歌曲背景

    电影“City of angels”（《天使之城》）中，天使Seth爱上了美丽的医生Maggie，为了能与她相守，Seth从高处跳下，成为了凡人。在医院里，护士看他满身是伤，惊奇不已：
-- Where did you fall?   
-- I fall…fall in love.   
    人间短暂却甜蜜的生活，但就当Seth和Maggie刚刚开始幸福的新生活时，Maggie却意外地死于一场车祸……

    每次看到这个美好而又忧伤的结局，总是感慨不已：为什么美好的事物总是转瞬即逝呢？好不容易得到的幸福，就这么容易地溜走了，这么努力地守护这份爱，到最后还是什么都抓不住啊。便渐渐领悟了其中爱的真谛：“When everything's made to be broken，I just want you to know who I am.” 
  
    如果世间万物都注定要归于毁灭的话，只要你知道我是谁，这就足够了。只要让你知道我深深地爱着你，哪怕美好只是一秒钟的回忆，只要它曾真实的发生过，我也就无怨无悔了。虽然以后的日子没有你的陪伴，但我不会难过，因为我还有和你在一起的这些美好的记忆，这就是我们相爱的证据。这份感情不在乎天长地久，只有要曾经拥有，就足够了。

      或许大家都看过《天使之城》这部电影，也都听过这首插曲。也或许都喜欢上了这首《angel》。看完电影后，我便找到了这首曲子，仔细的听了几遍。但没电影里的那种感觉。现在我听这首歌的时候，都会打开电影再听（在电影67分43秒处）。电影里的插曲听起来比原版更有感觉，因为有电影主题的村托和情节的铺垫。
      有人曾就Sarah McLachlan和Enya的音乐作过评价。Sarah McLachlan的音乐中或许夹杂着些许野性，而Enya则是另一种感觉。很平和、质朴。虽然我个人更偏爱Enya，但Sarah McLachlan的这首《angel》给我很大的震撼，化解众人的伤痛于无形,而如此天籁我们又怎么能错过呢？
